Sharing the same design as the larger engine powered versions, the smaller EP version of the Edge 540V3 is perfect for smaller flying fields and KMS 2820/05 or similar brushless power. Sister to the 60 size P-51 Mustang, the new Thunderbolt is an impressively large and surprisingly scale-like model of one of the all-time great fighters of WWII.

Whether you fit a 2-stroke 61 or 4-stroke 91 the performance is spectacular and realistic. The OV-1 Mohawk has the distinction of being the first Turboprop aircraft operated by the US Army. The Black Horse Stuka is a near to scale replica of the Ju-87B-2 variant, representing an aircraft operated in Austria in 1943. Some compromises have been made to model construction/flying but the general outline is fairly close to scale, as is the colour scheme.

Designed primarily for a 1.20 size four stroke engine, the Stuka can also be converted to EP power if required and a hatch on the underside allows acces to change the battery.

The Piper J-3 Cub was a small, simple, light aircraft that was built between 1937 and 1947 by Piper Aircraft. With tandem (fore and aft) seating, it was intended for light training but became one of the most popular and best known light aircraft of all time. For many it was the 'Model T' of the air bringing flight to a whole new generation of people.

The largest wingspan model in the Black Horse range makes a big presence at the flying field! With a 96.5in span yet only 5kg of weight ensures a really low wing loading for ultra-slow flying and STOL performance.

With scale wing struts, simulated scale undercarriage and a dummy scale engine, this big Cub needs just a 1.20 four stroke engine to power her but using her as a glider tug may need a little more

With a wingspan of over 2 metres - 80” - it requires a 1.60 size two stroke or a four stroke up to 35cc capacity.

huge control surfaces, but the rewards are very high.

This latest version is designed for 45/50cc petrol engines like the THOR 45 and makes a great first model for your first large scale aircraft.

With that extra sizes comes a whole host of new features that make it practical and even more scale looking. Each wing panel locates against the fuselage side under a scale wing fairing using heavy duty aluminium spars. Transportation is no issue at all

The Zlin 50L was one of the first aircraft to start off the modern genre of monoplane aerobatic aircraft. It was designed from the outset as a pure aerobatic aircraft and stressed for high 'G'.

Black horse have created a superb version of the Zlin 50L with all the agility of the original in a size that will fly on the popular 25 - 30cc petrol engines. Wherever possible, the scale outline has been used and the only departures have been those required to make a model fly well and be durable in use at the average club flying field. The main undercarriage for instance, has been made in curved aluminium for strength and shock absorbtion and the tailwheel assembly is also aluminium with shock spring connection to the rudder.

One of the most famous Italian fighters of WWII, the Macchi MC-200 was a design that spanned the old and new eras of fighter construction. Although a monoplane with retracts, she had an open cockpit and a large radial engine with little regard for low drag.

The Black Horse version is a really convenient size. Not too big that she won't fit in a car and not too small to be jostled around in a breeze.The recommended engine size will not break the bank either

Based on a famous, modern light aircraft, the Landscape has the kind of curves that are usually the domain of GRP mouldings. Black Horse on the other hand has a way with wood that sometimes defies belief. The Landscape is mostly wood! Yes, there are GRP parts like that sexy cowling and wheel spats, but the majority of the structure is laser cut wood clad in balsa. Even those curving wing tips are made of balsa

At Black Horse, we like Trojans and this one is the biggest of the three sizes available. That combination of impeccable flying manners, simple ground handling and a dramatic colour scheme are too hard to resist!

Bolt in a powerful 1.20 two stroke like the OS 120AX and you have the right power for this amazingly scale aircraft to roar around the sky with complete authority. That scale dihedral angle and tricycle undercarriage layout make her easy to operate from small fields by offereing a stable approach and Carefully-jig built at the factory by highly skilled workers in selected balsa and ply wood, with all components CNC laser cut for complete accuracy. You would be hard pressed to build her better yourself. When you factor in the time and component costs, together with the genuine Oracover film, the price starts to look amazingly cheap for such a large scale model.

One of the very last piston engined fighters to enter Royal Navy service, the Sea Fury had the distinction of being the only such aircraft to shoot down a Mig15 in combat during the Korean conflict. The early jets had the top end performance but the Sea Fury could dogfight harder and carrier operations were easier.

The Black Horse Sea Fury FB11 is a very faithful model of this classic fighter. Very little has been compromised from scale to make sure that those classic lines are not lost. Even the very complex curves have been replicated using balsa shaping techniques unique to the Black Horse engineers

This version of the Edge 540V3 has been designed to use the popular 30cc petrol engines yet still offer the levels of performance that you would expect.

The sleek balsa/ply construction has been optimsed to give the right combination of strength and low weightfrom a practical size of model that is equally at home on club 'patch' or a show flight line. Not a 3D model by any means, but there and again, the full size was not designed with that in mind either. She is capable of regular aerobatics and fast rolling manouevres just like the real one.

Designed and built in the U.S.S.R. and taking its maiden flight in 1984, the SU-26 is a single seater aerobatic plane which has been winning aerobatic championships since 1986. Long has the 26 entertained audiences, and this model is designed to emulate the characteristics of the original.

This is the biggest version of the Su-26 in the Black horse range and you get a lot of model for your money. The main construction is from Laser-cut balsa and ply parts. Each has been optimised to give the correct combination of strength an low weight. Black Horse engineers use the very latest Cad techniques to do this combined with clever jigs and some unique wood shaping methods. The net result is a strong models that has predictable flight performance and exceptional agility. Pretty much like the full size

Just when you thought that Black Horse had done everything, they come up with a model that is both iconic and complex all at the same time.

The Storch is all about slow speed flight and STOL performance. It all comes courtesy of that complex high lift wing featuring both slats and flaps. The Black Horse version has fixed slats and real 'Fowler flaps. The flaps and ailerons even have details such as simulated mass balances out on 'stalks', just like the real one. When down, the slow speed performance has to be seen to be believed! Not only is it slow, it is predictable and controllable as well. The scale-like struts look good and are fully structurall as well

There are a lot of 50cc size aerobatic models on the market these days, but none come close to the Black Horse Edge 540V3 for looks and performance.

This Edge 540V3 has been totally engineered with the discerning aerobatic modeller in mind. Every aspect of the CAD design has been though carefully through to give strength where it is needed and reduce weight where it is not. The removeable wings locate of two large, tubular, aluminium spars to provide both strength and security. Each wing panel has laser cut parts linked together with the spars and other structural components and then sheeted in balsa. Each aileron has twin servos and pushrods for real control power.

Working on the adage that 'Biggest is best', Black Horse decided that their gorgeous Edge 540V3 should be should grow just that little bit morefrom 50cc to an 85cc version.

The GRP cowling will accept both twin and single cylinder petrol engines with ease to give to you an impressive model on the ground an in the air. At 2.68m span she certainly has a 'presence'!!

Like the 50cc sibling, this model is built from Laser cut ply and balsa parts and then lovingly covered in a stunning scheme of Oracover heat shrink film. All mouldings are GRP yet she barely reached 11.5kg all up. To fly well, weight has to be minimised, and Black Horse have gone the xtra mile achieving that

The world of 1/5th scale warbirds has suddenly become very affordable with the launch of the new, big, Black Horse Corsair. At 90 inch span this is a serious size model, but by careful use of laser cut, balsa and ply components, weight has been kept down to an amazing 18 1/2lbs. This low weight allows the use of affordable 50cc engines that are becoming so popular now. Fit a 62cc engine an you have real performance in the vertical.

The outline has been kept as close to scale as possible to keep the classic look 'all Corsair' as she grooves around the sky in a manner that only big models like this can. Black Horse made sure that the gull wing angle was correct as the easy option was never a consideration.
