  • OMP M4 MAX (combo kit) incl. motor, servos, ESC - Orange
  • The popular M4 "380"-class 3D helicopter can now be purchased in a new super-powerful M4 MAX version. The MAX, like the "eM-Four", has a 120° CCPM cyclic plate with a flybarless rotor head. A new, more powerful brushless motor directly drives the 945mm diameter main rotor; the tail rotor on the extended carbon tail spar is driven via a wider toothed belt for reliable transmission of all that power. You can install your favourite flybarless controller and servos, at least an 80A speed controller, ideally with governor function, a 6S LiPo 2200 mAh battery and of course a reliable RC set.

Let's take a closer look at this latest addition to the OMP Hobby hangar. The fuselage structure is based on a pair of carbon fibre sidewalls connected by duralumin and plastic crossbars. The "heart" is a duralumin structure carrying a SUNNYSKY R80-7 brushless motor with an attached main shaft housing with bearings and swashplate servo holders. The main rotor is direct drive, the balance rotor is driven by a 5mm toothed belt. The swashplate and rotor head with blade carriers are all metal from precision CNC machined parts. All control rods are fitted with bolt rods to allow rod length adjustment without the need to remove ball studs. The tail beam is carbon tubing, the vertical stabilizer and sidewalls of the tail rotor housing are also carbon. The head and the blade drive of the tail rotor are all-metal; the lateral movement is controlled by a servo mounted in the lower fuselage with a carbon rod. The undercarriage is of tough fibreglass-reinforced plastic.

A basic set of 420mm main rotor blades (RotorTech 420 Ultimate) and tail rotor blades is supplied with the model.

To control the helicopter, you'll need at least a six-channel RC set; for full conventional and 3D flying, you'll need a computerized transmitter with 2–3 adjustable flight modes with at least five-point pitch curves for hovering and aerobatics and an additional mode for autorotation.

The helicopter is ready to install a flybarless controller - you can easily use most controllers suitable for helicopters of this size, such as Bavarian Demon 3X or AXON, Futaba CGY760R or CGY755 and many others.

Of course, you can use high-quality fast and powerful digital microservers with metal gears; for the swash and yaw plates the super fast KAVAN GO-1021MG brushless servos are perfect, and for yaw, you can also use the special narrowband (760µs) KAVAN GO-11T46MG brushless servo.

The electronic speed controller should have a load capacity of at least 80 A and a governor function. A suitable controller is e.g. the 85A OMP HOBBY controller designed specifically for the M4 MAX helicopter or the Hobbywing Platinum PRO 80A V4 etc.

For power supply, you will need a 6S 22.2V 2000–2200mAh LiPo battery with 60C discharge rate to fully utilize the motor power and capabilities of the helicopter.

The easily removable sports cabin is made of very lightweight moulded durable plastic - choose from three colour schemes to ensure good visibility and "readability" of the helicopter's position in the air.

The M4 MAX is a full 3D pitch-controlled helicopter - and as such assumes and requires appropriate pilot experience. It's not a drone where you just give it the throttle, it takes off and hangs "like glued" with no control inputs. The M4 MAX will be fully enjoyed by advanced pilots who already have extensive experience flying collective-controlled ("six-channel") helicopters.

The helicopter set contains: complete set of mechanics parts, SUNNYSKY R80-7 brushless motor, nose and balance rotor blades, building and setup instructions.
